What type of service projects exists in our community?

Guiding Activity - Students will explore different ways that people support those in need.

  • Students will log into Diigo to explore websites that offer examples of service projects.

  • Students will complete a graphic organizer and share their findings in a class discussion.

Guiding Activitiy - Students will develop a plan for carrying out their own service project.

  • In groups, students will choose an action for their project based on the needs of their charity and write out their plan.

  • Groups will then present their service project plan to the rest of the class in Glogster poster.


  • Each group will carry out their service project.

    • Students need to take pictures throughout their project.
    • Write notes of appreciation to those who help with the service project.

Guiding Activity - Finally, groups will make a summary video of their service project to share with the PTA/PTO and school administration.
